The Director, High Reliability/Patient Safety is a highly visible champion of the HMH commitment to Patient Safety and High Reliability. This role will work in direct partnership with HMHs Patient Safety Officer and report to the HMH Chief Quality Officer to provide leadership and development to HMH staff. Charged with developing a culture of safety first and to continuously improve safety, timeliness, effectiveness, efficiency and patient centeredness of healthcare services to all patients. Creates and maintains visible and effective cross-functional working relationships, collaborating with HMH physicians, clinicians, Human Resources, leaders, and other team members to ensure the principles of collaboration, courage, compassion and creativity are embedded within the culture of safety and effectiveness at HMH.
Responsible for ensuring the delivery of impactful HRO training to all HMH team members and physicians to create an environment in which potential problems are anticipated, detected early, and virtually always responded to early enough to prevent catastrophic consequences.
As part of the Executive Team, the Director of High Reliability and Safety will make recommendations for and document all policy, process, protocol and procedure improvement. Ensure the business and operating model is focused on delivering results, as well as driving efficiency, increasing productivity and cost savings/reductions to desired targets.
