Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a dedicated Physician Advisor to join our team at Ocean University Medical Center. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with hospital leadership, case management, and medical staff to enhance clinical documentation, regulatory compliance, and patient care efficiency.

Qualifications

Qualifications 

  • MD/DO degree from a recognized Medical or Osteopathic School
  • Obtain or have the ability to obtain a New Jersey Medical License
  • 1-2+ years of experience as a Physician Advisor or similar role
  • Ability to build rapport with medical staff and hospital leadership to obtain buy-in and

collaboration necessary to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to drive results and produce outcomes.
  • Member of the American College of Physician Advisors (ACPA) is preferred.
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, Inc. (ABQAURP) is preferred.
  • Physician Advisor Sub-specialty Certification by the American Board of Quality Assurance
  • and Utilization Review Physicians, Inc. (ABQAURP) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in the teaching, consulting and advising of the care management and utilization review departments and hospital leadership.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement methods and develop care management protocols that optimize the use of hospital services for all patients while ensuring quality care is provided.
  • Develop expertise on physician practice patterns, over and under-utilization of resources, medical necessity, levels of care, care progression, denial management, compliance with governmental and private payer regulations, appropriate physician coding and documentation requirements.

Starting Minimum Rate

Starting at $216,675 Annually

Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location.
Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the specialty and/or sub-specialty.
Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.

In addition to our compensation for full-time and part-time (20+ hours/week) positions, HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
